Steps to have your taxes prepared

  1. Fill out a tax organizer

  2. Submit your tax documents (W-2’s, 1099’s, etc…) to the firm through one of the following methods:

Electronically (preferred) - client provides the firm all tax documents in electronic format, completed tax documents returned to client as a pdf, tax forms signed electronically

  • Submit through the Client Xchange portal

    • Use prior year username, new users email us to create an account

    • Most file types accepted, including photos of documents

    • Place files in 2023 folder

    • Contact us when all files have been uploaded and it’s OK to start preparing

      (or)

  • Submit by email to brad@schaefferfinancialandtax.com

    • Password protected files are recommended

Paper (only accepting paper on a limited basis) - client provides the firm paper tax documents, completed tax documents printed and returned to client in a folder, tax forms signed by pen

  • Mail physical documents to our office

    (or)

  • Schedule drop off of physical documents at our office


fees

  • Individual tax return (1040) starting at $295

  • Small business with Schedule C starting at $500

  • Rental income with Schedule E starting at $500

    All fees include preparation of one federal, state, and local tax return with up to (3) W-2’s, (3) singular account forms such as 1099-INT/DIV or 1098/-T/-E, (1) consolidated brokerage 1099

    + $50 min for additional tax forms

    + $50 for each additional state and local tax return
